Hey hey hey ๐ welcome to my first CCR! This one is going to be very fun and creative. It’s basically a quick little journey through my CCR process because I’m only doing two overall this one right now and the second one that I’ll be working on soon. Finishing my movie has honestly been such an exciting experience, and creating this CCR felt like the perfect way to reflect on everything I did and everything I learned throughout the process.

So let’s start with the concept. I had the idea of filming in my kitchen and cooking something, specifically because I wanted my CCR to begin in a similar way that my movie ended inside the oven. I thought that would be such a clever and full-circle moment. It felt symbolic and intentional, like I was connecting the ending of my film to the explanation of it. I love when things feel cohesive and thought-out, so that’s exactly what I decided to do.๐๐
The only problem was… I didn’t know what to cook. When it was finally time to film, I wasn’t even hungry. My stomach was completely full, so making actual food didn’t feel realistic. That’s when I thought, okay, maybe I’ll make a drink instead. But then the question became: what drink?๐

That’s where the research came in.

As you can see in the picture below, I searched up what year Sylvia Plath died. She died in 1963๐
which also happens to be the same year Coca-Cola introduced its first diet soda. I thought that connection was such a strange but interesting coincidence, and I wanted to use it creatively. I originally planned to make something with Diet Coke to tie into that idea, but I didn’t have any at home. I only had Pepsi. So I had to work with what I had available.

Then I remembered a drink I used to have in Cuba called “Vaca Borracha,” which translates to “Drunk Cow.” It’s basically soda mixed with milk. So I thought, okay… let’s recreate that, but with Pepsi since that’s what I had. When I looked it up, I discovered something called “Pilk,” which had actually been trending online. I thought that was such a random but interesting connection, so I decided to use that idea. It was unexpected, and slightly chaotic but in a creative way that matched the tone of my project.
๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐For filming, I had to ask my mom to help me record in the kitchen because I obviously can’t film myself perfectly from every angle, and I don’t own a tripod. She recorded the first part for me, and it actually went really well. After that, she had to leave, so I was home alone and had to film the rest by myself.

I ended up placing my phone inside the kitchen cabinets to hold it up at certain angles. It was very DIY, but it worked surprisingly well. I even experimented with a few overhead shots to make the video more visually interesting and dynamic. Overall, I genuinely liked how everything turned out.

At the end, I placed the phone on the table for one of the shots. Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of how that angle looked. It didn’t turn out exactly how I imagined it in my head, but filmmaking isn’t always perfect. Sometimes you just have to accept certain shots and move forward. Even though it wasn’t my favorite, I kept it because it was part of the process.
From the pictures below๐๐๐
While editing, I was also researching things like online media, film festivals, social media creativity, social issues, short clips, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. I wanted to connect my project to modern media platforms and show how short-form content can spread messages in creative ways.

Below, there’s also a picture of me editing all the drafts I had. I was adjusting the sound, inserting pictures, trimming clips, and organizing everything all in one night. It was a lot of work, but it didn’t go badly at all. It was actually very fun. I enjoy editing because I get to see all my ideas slowly come together into something complete.
Now, below I’m going to include the script I originally planned for this CCR. Even though I didn’t follow it word-for-word while filming, it helped guide my structure and made sure I stayed organized and clear in what I wanted to say.

Reflection :๐❀˖°
Reflecting on this first CCR, I honestly feel really proud of myself. I took a simple idea being in my kitchen and turned it into something creative, symbolic, and meaningful. From connecting it back to my oven ending, to researching small historical details, to filming with whatever setup I had available, I truly made it work. This project showed me that creativity isn’t about having perfect equipment or perfect conditions. It’s about using what you have and trusting your vision. I’ve become more confident not only in editing but also in presenting myself and explaining my creative decisions. And that growth is something I’m really proud of.
