Gallery Walk Reflection

, HEYYYY SOOOOOO OUUURR class had a gallery walk where we got to visit and explore each other’s blogs, and honestly, it was such a fun and inspiring experience. It felt like walking through everyone’s creative world, seeing how different personalities showed through their designs, colors, and writing styles. The main goal was to give feedback to others and also receive some for our own blogs, which I think is super helpful because sometimes you don’t notice small details about your own work until someone else points them out. In my case, I was really thankful because all the feedback I got was positive. No one said anything bad, which could mean I’m doing things right or maybe people were just being extra sweet. Either way, I’m really happy about it. I love when people actually enjoy my blog because I do spend time making sure everything looks nice, detailed, and true to my vision

. ๐Ÿ’—

The people in my class were all very kind and encouraging during the gallery walk, and it honestly made the whole thing feel so welcoming. I could tell that everyone put effort into their blogs, and it was really interesting to see how different everyone’s ideas were. I think feedback days like this are important because they help you see what’s working and what could be improved while still keeping your own personal style. ๐ŸŒธ

๐Ÿ’… Things I Learned from Other Blogs ๐Ÿ’…

Maybe I should make the font a little smaller so it looks more organized and easier to read.

• I should also try not to go too overboard with the colors, even though I absolutely love the pink and bright aesthetic. Sometimes the colors can be a little distracting, and people might focus more on how it looks rather than what it actually says.

• I realized that keeping the design balanced is key. It can still be pretty and eye-catching while letting the content stand out too.

But honestly, not to brag or anything, I don’t think my blog had that many flaws. I’m still very proud of it, and I think it reflects my personality really well. ๐Ÿ’–

๐Ÿ’ซ Positive Things I Received ๐Ÿ’ซ

“You can tell you put a lot of work into it.” A few people said that, and it made me really happy because I definitely do put a lot of effort into making everything flow nicely and look clean.

• “It’s very inspirational.” I love that one because it makes me feel like my work actually has an impact and can motivate others.

• “Top tier blog.” That one honestly made me smile because I really try to make it stand out and feel special.

• “The best blog I’ve ever seen.” That was one of my favorite comments because it made me feel proud and confident in what I created. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’“

Another thing I’d like to mention is how friendly and positive the whole environment felt. Everyone was really supportive, respectful, and open to sharing their thoughts, which made the experience even better. I liked seeing how creative everyone was and how each person’s blog had its own unique touch. Some were simple and calm, while others were bold and colorful, and I loved all of them for different reasons. ๐ŸŒท

Overall, the gallery walk was such a good experience for me. I left feeling proud of my blog, inspired by my classmates, and even more motivated to keep improving it. I’ll definitely keep my pretty, pink, and soft style, but I’ll also make sure that it’s easy to read and focused on the content. It was a really lovely day that reminded me how much I enjoy creating and expressing myself through design. ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒธ

New Section♥*♡∞:。.。

So from now on, I’m going to start adding a little movie analysis section at the end of each blog where I go over everything more carefully. I’ll talk about things like the music, titles, lighting, editing, and the whole mise-en-scรจne which basically means the setting, props, and costumes. I also want to look into the acting, body language, and how different techniques can affect how the audience feels or sees the story. Plus, I’ll include some notes about the opening credits, title style, and just little things I notice in movies that stand out to me or catch my attention.

For this blog, I’ll be starting with one of my favorite movies, Black Swan. I chose it because it has so many interesting details to look at, and it’s just such a powerful and emotional movie. There’s something about the way it mixes beauty, pressure, and chaos that makes it the perfect film to analyze and talk about in more depth.♥*♡∞:。.。

♥*♡∞:。.。๐ŸŽ€ Black Swan (2010) by Darren Aronofsky

For todays section, I’m focusing on Black Swan, which is honestly one of the most powerful and emotional movies ever. It’s dark but so beautiful at the same time, like this perfect mix of elegance, pressure, and chaos that just pulls you in. Every little detail feels so intentional, like everything means something deeper. I picked it because it’s the kind of movie that makes you think and feel all at once, and the whole aesthetic is so haunting and pretty in a twisted way ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ–ค

Nina (Natalie Portman) is a ballerina whose passion for the dance rules every facet of her life. When the company's artistic director decides to replace his prima ballerina for their opening production of "Swan Lake," Nina is his first choice. She has competition in newcomer Lily (Mila Kunis) however. While Nina is perfect for the role of the White Swan, Lily personifies the Black Swan. As rivalry between the two dancers transforms into a twisted friendship, Nina's dark side begins to emerge.

As the story unfolds, Nina’s psyche becomes increasingly unstable. She battles with her mother, who tries to safeguard her fragile mental state, but ultimately, Nina’s fiercely competitive spirit drives her to an intense confrontation with Lily. The tensions culminate in an explosive fight, where Nina fatally stabs Lily—deluded into believing she’s still in control.

This harrowing act propels Nina into a remarkable performance as the Black Swan, where she fully realizes her transformation, earning the standing ovation she desperately needed. Yet, her triumph is bittersweet, marred by the bloodshed and turmoil she’s unwittingly unleashed within herself. In her final act, she embodies the tragic resolution of the White Swan, surrendering to the very perfection she sought, uttering the fateful words, > “I was perfect,” just moments before slipping into oblivion amidst the applause.

Music & Sound: The music is breathtaking. It’s based on Swan Lake, which fits the story so perfectly. The soundtrack starts soft and delicate, then slowly builds into something more dramatic and emotional. You can literally feel the tension rising as Nina loses control. There are also all these little sounds, like breathing, footsteps, or scratching, that make you feel like you’re inside her head. It’s so intense and magical but also kind of scary, like you’re trapped in her mind with her ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿฉฐ

Lighting: The lighting is absolutely gorgeous but super unsettling. Most of it is dim, cold, and shadowy, which makes everything feel mysterious and kind of dreamy. Sometimes it switches suddenly, especially during her dance scenes, and everything looks brighter and almost unreal, like she’s fading into her fantasy. The light and darkness represent her two sides, the innocent White Swan and the wild, dangerous Black Swan. It’s so cinematic and just beautiful but terrifying ✨๐Ÿ•ฏ️

Editing: The editing is chaotic in the best way possible. There are fast cuts, reflections, and sudden flashes that make you question what’s real. It’s disorienting on purpose so the audience feels just as confused and anxious as Nina does. It keeps you tense and curious the whole time, like you can’t look away even when things start getting really dark ๐ŸŽž️๐Ÿ’ซ

♥*♡∞:。.。

Mise-en-scรจne (setting, props, costumes): The visuals in this movie are perfection. Nina’s room is soft and girly with pink walls and stuffed animals, showing how innocent she is at first. But as the story goes on, everything around her starts feeling darker and more intense. The costumes are absolutely stunning, her white outfit represents purity and control while her black swan costume is dramatic and fierce, showing her transformation. The mirrors everywhere symbolize how obsessed she is with perfection and identity. Every single object in this movie feels like it’s saying something deeper ๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿฉถ๐ŸŒธ

Acting & Body Language: Natalie Portman is incredible here. Her acting feels so real, like she’s actually living Nina’s breakdown. The way she moves, her nervous hands, her posture, her little looks, shows how much pressure she’s under. As the movie goes on she becomes freer and wilder, almost like she’s transforming into the Black Swan for real. You can feel every emotion through her body, the fear, the pressure, the passion. It’s breathtaking to watch ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ”ฅ

Opening & Titles: I love that the movie starts with a ballet performance instead of regular credits. It immediately puts you in her world and sets the tone right away, elegant but eerie. The title Black Swan appears simply but beautifully, just white text on a black background, showing how the whole movie is about contrast and balance. It’s simple but gives off this classy, mysterious energy ๐Ÿ–ค✨

Black Swan is honestly such an amazing and emotional representation of personality disorder because it perfectly captures how the mind can twist reality when someone is pushed too far. Nina’s whole world revolves around being perfect, and that constant pressure turns into something dark and uncontrollable inside her. What makes it so powerful is how it shows that her mind isn’t just breaking randomly, it’s like every little thought, every bit of fear, and every insecurity starts to take over her completely. She becomes trapped between who she really is and who she’s supposed to be, and that’s such a deep way to show the loss of identity that comes with mental illness. The way the movie uses mirrors and reflections shows how she keeps questioning her own reality, like she’s seeing herself but not recognizing who she’s become. It’s so symbolic of how a personality disorder can make someone feel split in two, like you’re fighting against your own self. The Black Swan side of her isn’t just confidence or rebellion; it’s the part of her that’s been buried by control, fear, and perfectionism for so long that when it finally comes out, it completely takes over. It’s honestly heartbreaking because all she wanted was to be perfect, and instead, she loses herself trying to be what everyone else expects. The movie makes you feel her emotions so deeply that it’s not just about ballet anymore, it becomes a mirror for what it’s like to battle your own mind, to look perfect on the outside while falling apart on the inside.

Overall, Black Swan is this stunning mix of beauty and madness. Every detail, the music, the lighting, the editing, the acting, all work together to show how chasing perfection can completely destroy you. It’s dark, emotional, and totally unforgettable. It’s one of those movies that stays in your head forever, like a pretty nightmare you can’t stop thinking about ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฉฐ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŒท
