This paragraph is honestly one of the most important reflections of the entire project, because it explains a major creative shift that happened in real time while we were filming.

It wasn’t something I planned from the beginning it was a decision that came from actually being in the moment, thinking realistically, and understanding the limits of what we could do while still protecting the meaning of the story.

While we were filming the mirror scene, I had a conversation with Angely ๐Ÿฉท where I finally admitted something to myself

: the original ending I imagined, even though it was powerful and visually striking in my head, just wasn’t realistic for us to film. ◈━◈━◈━◈━◈

I had this very strong vision involving a high place, and aesthetically, it fit perfectly with the intensity and emotional weight of the story. I loved it, and letting it go was not easy at all.

(so im sad to leave misa amanes ending )

a minute of silence.....๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ’”

◈━◈━◈━◈━◈

However, once we actually started breaking it down, reality kicked in. We didn’t have enough time, access, or resources to film in a high location safely. We also spent a lot of time researching possible places, and nothing worked.

Either the locations were inaccessible, unsafe, or simply not appropriate to film in. On top of that, filming something like that in public would almost definitely draw attention. People couldหห‹°•*⁀➷ misunderstand the scene, think something serious was happening, or assume we were filming something inappropriate or dangerous (like a prank yt video). That was not something we wanted at all.

◈━◈━◈━◈━◈

lucky US THAT WE HAD FILMED SCENE 2&3 THAT DIDNT AFFECT THE CHANGE IN THE PLOT! AND GOOD THING WE INCLUDED THE BOOK

At that point, we realized that keeping the original idea would add stress, risk, and confusion not just for us, but for other people too. As much as it hurt to admit it, cutting that idea became the smartest and most responsible decision. It was a moment where I had to choose between holding onto a vision just because I loved it, or adapting the project so it could actually be completed properly.

Since we already had the book as an important object in the film, we decided to reshape the ending and center it around Sylvia Plath instead.หห‹°•*⁀➷

หห‹°•*⁀➷

This choice felt meaningful, not random. Sylvia Plath is an หห‹°•*⁀➷author that both Angely ๐Ÿฉท and I genuinely หห‹°•*⁀➷appreciate,

(ALSO one of my reasearch blogs was on the book) หห‹°•*⁀➷

and her work already carries the emotional depth, internal struggle, and intensity that matched the tone of the film. When the idea came up, it didn’t feel forced it felt like the story was naturally shifting in that direction.

˚ ◌༘♡ ⋆。˚ ๊•ฅ

What I really liked about this change is that we didn’t lose the core of the story. The character was still the same: a girl filled with internal conflict, emotional pressure, and suppressed feelings.                                                                                  ˚ ◌༘♡ ⋆。˚ ๊•ฅ

Her struggle, her rage, and her instability were still present. The only thing that changed was how we chose to express it. In the end, it still felt like the story I wanted to tell it was just told in a more symbolic and grounded way.

I won’t lie, though. It was disappointing to let go of the original inspiration I had planned from the beginning. I genuinely loved it, and I had already built my entire moodboard around that ending. It felt frustrating to think about how much time and thought I had put into that version. But at the same time, being able to include Sylvia Plath felt just as meaningful. She is such an iconic figure, and her presence added a literary and historical layer that made the project feel deeper and more intentional.

Another thing I really appreciated about this new direction is that the inspiration comes from a book, not a movie. Most people choose movies or TV shows because the visuals are already there, and it’s easier to recreate scenes or aesthetics. But working from a book forced me to think more creatively.

✼ ҉ ҉ ✼
✼ ҉ ҉ ✼

Instead of copying visuals, I had to interpret ideas, emotions, and themes in my own way. That made the project feel more personal and original.

──⇌••⇋────⇌••⇋────⇌••⇋────⇌••⇋────⇌••⇋──

The story doesn’t directly recreate the events of the book, but instead references the author and her legacy in a symbolic way. Our main character is reading the book, and through that, she becomes exposed to information about Sylvia Plath. There’s a moment where she encounters an image and written material connected to the author, which reflects her own emotional state. That connection becomes part of the storytelling rather than something explicit, allowing the audience to make their own interpretations.

(i was also sad bc i had done an awesome physical moodboard. and this would mean that is like the 4th time i change my mind..)    ∘°∘♡∘°∘

Once we committed to this change, the process actually became smoother. Filming at my house made everything much easier and more organized. Finding time to film is already difficult, even though Angely is my best friend and my actress. If we had stuck to the original plan, we would’ve had to travel far, spend money on gas, plan food, and coordinate transportation. My dad recently started a new job and works every day, so he wasn’t able to drive us. Angely’s mom would’ve had to do all the driving, and while she’s incredibly supportive and basically my second mom, it would’ve been a lot to manage.∘°∘♡∘°∘

Filming at my house allowed us to focus more on the creative process instead of logistics. We could take our time, talk through scenes, and adjust things without pressure. It also made the environment feel more intimate, which worked perfectly with the emotional tone of the film.∘°∘♡∘°∘

Even though I was initially unhappy

about changing the ending, I slowly realized that this version of the story felt more achievable and more honest. Sylvia Plath’s influence brought a strong aesthetic and emotional depth that aligned perfectly with the film’s mood. In the end, the visuals, themes, and atmosphere came together in a way that felt intentional and complete.∘°∘♡∘°∘

By the time we finished planning and filming, I felt genuinely satisfied. I have very high standards for my work, and even after adjusting my original vision to fit reality, I still felt proud of the outcome.

: ̗̀➛Short reflection ;

This experience taught me that being realistic doesn’t mean giving up creativity it means reshaping it so it can actually exist. And in this case, that adjustment made the project stronger than I expected
