๐๐ต๐ธ๐ฐ #19How am I visually mapping out my film’s idea, themes, shots, and characters? and i finally have a titleeee
HIIIIIIIII ˗หห ´ห˗
the digital storyboard
OK, so first, Scene One.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
Frame One is going to be an establishing shot of the entire location where we’re going to film. This is mainly to set the mood and give context before we actually focus on her. Frame Two will basically be showing her character and her costume.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'Since I’m planning to make the overall look pretty dull and muted, this is where I want the lace details to stand out. That’s why I want to show her dressed in lace it contrasts with how empty and lifeless everything else feels. For Frame Three, I want to show her with her mom reading her a book. There’s going to be lace on the table, which is also going to be
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'tied to the title.
The title will appear on the screen right after she closes the book. Then, the camera will move to show the books and other objects displayed on the table from a high angle, including the bottle of pills. The scene will end with her taking
the pills, which is meant to feel subtle but unsettling
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'For Scene Two, it’s going to start directly with a transition from Scene One. She starts taking the pills, and then we cut into the next frames. For Frame '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'Two, it’s going to show her placing the pills on the table, focusing on her desk. Then it’ll show her sitting down at the desk, looking for things online maybe scrolling or kind of grinding through Pinterest.'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*' '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'I’m still not 100% sure about that part yet, but I’ll figure it out once I’m actually filming. For Frame Four, it’s going to be a mix of shots: a high angle and a normal angle of her at the desk, followed by a simple zoom-out that shows her entire room. After that, I might do a small edit, or it’ll just cut to her walking toward the mirror, which transitions into Scene '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'Three, one of the main scenes.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'Her reflection starts looking directly at her, and it slowly becomes different. In Frame Three, the reflection starts acting out, showing her losing control pulling at her hair, screaming, and crashing out. For Frame Four, the lights begin switching faster and more aggressively, and her reflection moves unnaturally with editing and effects that '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'I’ll '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'add later.
'*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'Then for Frame Five, the mirror moment pauses, showing her reflection in a disturbing state. After that, the camera flips back to her, revealing scratches on her face and a completely broken, exhausted look. Finally, Frame Six, the last frame, shows her either on the bed or on the floor, completely drained. This shot will be wide, possibly overhead or aerial, to '*•.¸♡ ♡¸.•*'make her look small and overwhelmed.

So for Scene Five, which is obviously my favorite one, even though I’m still not 100% sure about the location yet. Right now, I put Miami Marine Stadium, but that might change later. Overall, this is my favorite scene because I love the inspiration behind it. - ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌I got a lot of inspiration from Death Note, which is literally an - ͙۪۪̥˚┊❛ ❜┊˚ ͙۪۪̥◌amazing anime that I’m obsessed with and have been obsessed with for a long time.
My favorite character is obviously Misa, and I just love her energy and aesthetic so much, which is why I’m taking inspiration from that style and mood.

Basically, I’m planning to do something pretty similar visually to the past idea.
。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆ I’m trying to film at the Marine Stadium to get that dramatic, open, and intense feeling. To really understand the last scene and the inspiration behind it, you honestly just have to watch the clip from Death Note, which I’m going to link below. That scene explains everything way better than I ever could ๐ฌ✨.。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆
。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆Since I think I was pretty clear with the whole explanation, I’m just going to put the pictures of the board here. The whiteboard that I bought is the one shown below, and it’s basically very similar to what I already had on the storyboard online that I made on Canva. The layout, the ideas, and the order are all pretty much the same, just transferred into a physical version.。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆
。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆
So basically, if you look at my board, you’ll notice that some things at the top are covered. There’s actually a good explanation for that. From Blog 18, you already know that I had to change an idea that I was really comfortable with, which wasn’t easy at all. 。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆I had to simplify everything and make sure the concept realistically fits into a two-minute video.。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆ That’s why I ended up erasing or covering the top part of the board. I’m honestly a little sorry about that, but at the same time, it’s better this way because it clearly shows my progress. I’m also going to include a few pictures below that show how my idea evolved and how the project is coming together.。・:*:・๏พ★,。・:*:・๏พ☆

So this section is basically showing my progress,

the digital one☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝☝♥*♡∞:。.。
♥*♡∞:。.。the physical one๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
♥*♡∞:。.。
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..starting from when I was working on the storyboard on Canva. This includes what I had to look for, the references I used, and especially the template I ended up
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..choosing. Honestly, I think the template was perfect for what I needed. I genuinely believe that if
♥*♡∞:。.。I had chosen a different one, I would’ve struggled a lot more
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..or gotten confused while organizing my ideas.
Me personally, I love templates. They help me stay structured
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..and not feel overwhelmed when I have a lot of ideas in my head. You’re actually going to see this even more clearly in the editing blog that I’m going to do later, because I really rely on templates when it comes to editing too. They make the whole process feel more controlled and less stressful ๐ญ✨.
above, you can also see the progress of me working on the whiteboard after I deleted my original idea. This was the version where I had already committed to changing the concept, even though it wasn’t easy. At first, I didn’t even have a title, which honestly stressed me out a little, but now I do,
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..and I’m really glad I figured that part out.
Having a title made everything feel more real and more complete. I’m also really glad that I wrote most of my ideas in
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..pencil, because it gave me the freedom to erase, change things, and move stuff around without feeling stuck. Right now, I’m still not completely sure about my character’s name. For now, her name is Caroline, but that might change later. Either way, you’ll learn more about her and the meaning
... ✿°•∘ษท∘•°✿ ..behind her name in future blogs .

Looking back at this part of my process, I feel like this blog really shows how much my project has evolved and how much I’ve learned to adapt. Even though changing an idea I was comfortable with wasn’t easy at all, I think it ended up helping me more in the long run.

Simplifying everything so it could realistically fit into a two-minute film forced me to be more intentional with my choices, instead of just adding things because they looked cool. Working with templates, both on Canva and later with the whiteboard, made me feel more organized and less overwhelmed, which is really important for me when I’m creating.

Seeing my progress physically, especially on the whiteboard, made the project feel real and not just like an idea in my head. Overall, this stage helped me understand that changing plans doesn’t mean failing it actually shows growth, flexibility, and a clearer vision of what I want my final piece to be ๐✨.
